OUR SPECIALTIES
Therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma & more
Whether you're managing anxiety, working through trauma, navigating a relationship or facing a big life change, OUR THERAPISTS offer evidence-based care for adults, college students, teens, couples and families, in person in East Lansing or online across Michigan.
-
Racing thoughts, pent up tension, fearing the worst. Anxiety makes everyday events feel urgent and overwhelming.
Occasional anxiety is normal. It becomes a problem when it feels hard to control, happens frequently, or starts interfering with daily life. Whether it's persistent worry, panic, social anxiety or something harder to name, we can help.
Blending CBT, mindfulness-based techniques and a trauma-informed lens, we help you understand and manage anxiety in an entirely new way.
-
Depression is more than sadness, and it's very treatable.
Depression can affect nearly every part of life: energy, motivation, relationships, concentration, sleep and sense of self. Sometimes it feels like sadness. Other times it looks more like irritability, withdrawal, exhaustion, or simply not seeming like yourself.
Therapy offers a place to understand what's happening, address the patterns keeping you stuck, and find practical ways to feel more engaged and hopeful in your life again.
-
Trauma is the lasting impact of an overwhelming experience. Therapy can help you rebuild a sense of safety and purpose.
Whether it was a single event or years of accumulated experience, traumatic stress has a way of showing up unexpectedly, in your functioning, your body and your relationships.
You don't have to keep managing it alone. Our trauma-informed therapists provide gentle, evidence-based care, including EMDR, EFT and TF-CBT.
-
Strong relationships are built, not found.
Whether you're navigating conflict, rebuilding trust, feeling disconnected, or working through patterns that keep repeating, relationship struggles are some of the most painful experiences we face.
We offer individual and conjoint therapy rooted in EFT and attachment theory, helping you communicate more clearly, repair ruptures, and build the kind of connection you're looking for.
-
Big change, even good change, can knock you sideways.
Career changes, divorce, becoming a parent, leaving school, moving, loss of identity. Life transitions shake up everything you thought you knew about yourself and what comes next. It's disorienting even when the change is one you chose.
Therapy during a transition gives you space to grieve what's ending, make sense of what's shifting, and build clarity about what you actually want from what comes next.
-
Grief doesn't follow a timeline, and neither does healing.
Loss comes in many forms: a person, a relationship, an identity, a version of your life you thought you'd have. Grief is not something to fix or move past. It's something to learn to carry, and eventually, to live alongside.
We offer a steady, unhurried space to process your loss at your own pace, with a therapist who won't rush you or hand you a five-stage model and call it done.
-
Not everything fits a category. We also work with disordered eating, domestic violence and substance-based coping.
Disordered eating is often tangled up with anxiety, trauma, identity and control. Our approach is weight-neutral and focused on healing your relationship with yourself, not just with food. If you're leaving, recovering from, or still inside an abusive relationship, we offer a steady, confidential place to sort out what you need next. And if drinking or using has become the way you cope, we can help you understand what it's doing for you and build other ways through.
Looking for support with something not listed here? Tell us what you're facing. We'll help you work out whether someone on our team is the right fit, and point you elsewhere if not.
The emotions we push away don’t disappear. They surface in other ways — through our relationships, our health & our sense of purpose.
